Guides & Tips
First Descent to Wave 50
KryptVault is a one-file HTML5 roguelite: WASD move, auto-aim fire, Space for ascendancy ability, P to pause. Your job is positioning and card picks while five living biomes try to soft-control you with bricks, quicksand, ice, magma, and gilded loot blocks.

Each level-up offers three cards: crit, lifesteal, orbiting blades, lightning, exploding kills, or cursed power with interest. Synergy beats rarity — two mediocre cards that evolve together outscale a random legendary that dilutes your kit.

Launch Impressions
Complete Browser Roguelite
OddSlice’s 1.0 pitch is unusually complete for a one-HTML-file game: five heroes, ten ascendancy paths, five reactive biomes, Keeper boss, endless board, and a live-synthesized doom-rock score. It reads like a compressed Vampire Survivors cousin with more terrain rules.
Community notes mention freezes on some setups, so expect browser variance. For players who want a full roguelite loop without Steam, KryptVault 1.0 is one of the denser mid-July browser releases.
itch.io Players
Devlog cadence through July shows aggressive iteration — card pool reworks, Ranger unlock economy, subclass spacebar abilities, and Keeper endless. Players call early builds “pretty fun” while bug threads track freezes.
Reception frames it as a serious hobby project punching above itch microgame weight, especially after the 1.0 living-crypt update.
